  • This 50% blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera is drinking really well right now. It is very balanced, with great harmony between the ripe fruit and the underlying structure. The acidity is medium to medium (+), as are the tannins. The alcohol is high at 14.5% but well integrated and not particularly noticeable. It is an excellent food wine but generous and smooth enough to drink by itself. I imagine that this will continue to age well, but I would drink it soon, while the fruit is still alive, rather than waiting for all the tertiary aromas to kick in.

  • 50 % Barbera, 50 % Nebbiolo. Spicy, tannic, young. Alcohol comes through a bit.

  • At winery with Claudia Cigliuti - A flight of Serroboella 08, 07, 06, 01 magnum, 08 Vinga Erte, 09 Briccoserra, 09 Barbera Compass

The best Briccoserra I have had. A define presence of french oak on the nose and the palate. Smells of french vanilla baked sugar cookies with a raspberry torte that smells so deliciously wonderful. The Nebbiolo and Barbaera are in perfect harmony together adding a great mix of bramble red berry fruit with a rose and violet and balsamic notes with a chalk dust and calcium mineralty to the wine's earthy core. The finish is generously long and this is an exceptionally well made wine. Amazing wine. Dry and juicy all at the same time. This is the inly wine in their production that see 100% new barrique every vintage.
