Emirates lounge in Dubai. Dark garnet to the rim as the 2011s often still are with with no sign of evolution. A touch of cedar on the nose. Starts with a rich and plush mouthfeel on the attack but then the mid palate does not follow through as it does not posses the depth and concentration one might hope for with the first sip. Medium tannins are still showing - again this is 2011. Fairly short finish. Very well done for a 3rd wine in a tough vintage.

A month off; 12/10/2022-1/5/2023 (Dubai Sydney Canberra): Red/Purple/Black. Classic aromas of cedar, cassis, touch of mint. More mellow drinking. Oak, apple, light blackcurrant and blackberry fruit and a bit of gingery spice.

Delicious! While nowhere near as good as the Grand Vin or even Les Forts, it is a very well made wine and drinkable now. The nice thing about this wine is that you can drink it early while you wait decades for the Grand Vin to come of age. Very Pauillac in character. There is a green stem character in the finish that is evident and the finish is somewhat abrupt. Otherwise, this would have warranted a higher score. Decanted for 1 hour.

Emirates First Class Lounges, Dubai; 2/13/2023-2/18/2023: Red fruits, cedar and graphite.
Lean, graphite and earth gravel midpalate, still has some fine yet al dente tannins.

Very consistent tasting tonight with my tasting note from back in February earlier this year. Solid 3rd label from Latour.
