A dark colour, hardly any brown, starting severe with bitters in the nose and a very classic, dry CS impression. With a long aeration the wine showed more elegance, iron, leather, dark fruit, a whiff of pencil and even some sweetness, This wine showed elegance and dignity; real classic bordeaux; 89 points for its performance and 1 point for survving so well.

excellent wine. Was a pleasure to drink and had no flawn even after 16 years in my homemade cellar. Awesome nose, needed to be open 2hr before drinking.

The 2001 Pauillac de Latour has some of the classy cedery nose of his big brothers Les Forts and Latour. It is not a great and profound wine, but it is a very enjoyable lighter style wine from a noble family. Just enough flesh and a slightly bitter but however nice core. Medium aftertaste, somewhat onedimensional. From the auction at appr. € 22 it was worth the money, but don't pay very much more if you want to taste this wine.
