Notes of black currant, leather and cedar. Length is average. Mouthfeel is medium. Acidity is medium. Tannins are medium and are mostly from the fruit. Overall, its a pleasant wine with a wonderful aroma though the palate character is comparatively a little lacking.

Airoldi Fine Wines Winter Tasting (Oak Barrel, Elizabeth Street, Sydney): Polished oak, chocolate, smell the quality? But don’t smell the glorious fruit. It's a bit sour smelling black fruit and the palate is a reflection of this Very expensive for something that isn't particularly nice.

53.7% Merlot, 45.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 0.8% Cabernet Franc. About 20% new barrels are used in the vinification of the Pauillac. Decanted for 8 hours prior to note. Aromas are moderate to moderate-plus and show a combination cassis, cherry and wild berry that interplay with the notes of earth, tobacco, herbs, oak, toasted anise and subtle hints of camphor and baking chocolate. The palate shows long flavors of cherry, cassis, and red currant with strong notes of tobacco, herbs, wood smoke, gravelly earth and coca nib. The full body shows structured acidity and full-drying rustic tannins. The mid-plate seems lithe and the finish lingers pleasantly. An interesting combination of intensity and restraint.

Tasted in Paris. On the nose: lots of dark fruit. On the palette: dark red fruit, coffee and very closed off. Not showing much of its potential yet. Obviously still too young but the skillset is there. 88-90
