With its color as transparent as Burgundy should be, nose consists of cherries, cranberry juice, cane sugar, and hint of earth without any stink, which I wouldn't mind at all. Palate is a bit sweet and certainly not austere. Lovely mix of juicy red fruits with gentle caressing tannins lead to a nice finish. 13% Alc. Purchased at $25.

An excellent introduction to quality wines from Bourgogne. Michel Gay is a well respected producer of wine with prices that are reasonable. Overall this producer rates very high in cost performance.
The wine was part of a set course dinner at San Francisco's Campton Place Restaurant, one of my favourite American restaurants.
The wine was a lighter medium body with aromas of raspberry and strawberry. The acidity is spot on to balance the fruity character of the wine. An excellent Bourgogne wine paired with duck.

This wine should not be this good. This doesn't drink like Chorey. The nose is gorgeously redolent of sweet cherry, spring flowers, soft plum, and raspberry fruit. Red fruits and spice box dominate the rich, chalky, concentrated slightly sappy palate. Structured with noticeable tannin and a depth and concentration that is unheard of for this price point. Long jammy finish. Hell yes.

Nice sappy nose - fruit driven with strawberry and raspberry hints. Very nice taste but slightly thin very enjoyable finish. Not much minerality - more fruit driven. This example of a Chorey is more enjoyable than the generic Drouhin or Dubois versions. Those show more oak while this shows more fruit.

I taste more structure this time. Once again, I'm happy with the purchase at $25.
