  • Very good wines made by WH Wines, and this one is NO exception. The only thing I would have done differently about this wine would have been to let it open for about 2 hours before starting to consume it as there was a flint and metallic note on the very front at the start, which kind of threw me off a little bit. This producer is a very modest, yet producing some of the most ridiculous Rutherford wines on a beautiful piece of property that backs up to Quintessa. I remember that this was a proper Rutherford Cabernet, as it had a full bouquet of earth, terroir ("Rutherford Dust" ), and is Medium ++ bodied to full bodied. The wine poured a dark red into the glass. The nose was all blackberry. rhubarb. Earthy grit. The middle kind of lightened into a black cherry and mocha note. The finish was all traditional Napa Rutherford Cab with some sweet tannin (and quite a bit of it) along with that Rutherford Dust. An excellent wine, which will only improve with time. Done by 2020, so if you only have one more bottle (like I do), then let the last one sit 3-4 years before trying again! Well made wine by my new favorite Napa Valley producer, WH Wines.

  • Lovely intense color the flavors are intense but still slightly disjointed and not completely integrated and developed. That said this one awesome Cabernet that is ripe but not over ripe and I just opened it too soon. Great balance, lovely tannins, and tons of classic flavors including French oak in context. I will come back to this in two years.

  • Delicious, deep blackberry fruit, charcoal, loads of oak and mocha. Not for those who prefer lean French Bordeaux.

  • Similar to previous notes. Much better on the 2nd day. This is definitely a cab that needs time to evolve. Not worth touching for a few more years.
