Tasted over 2 hrs and day 2 -pretty bright med dark red purple minimal clearing -deeper pitched black cherry wet stone -med acidity, med weight faded sappy earthy black cherry, med/med- tannins; sweet oak residue becomes more prominent on day 2 -not super complex but nice concentration focus and intensity in early maturity, modern styled

Pretty good. A bit of barnyard on the nose, nothing over the top though. The wine is smooth, saturated, enjoyable, showing red fruits, primarily strawberries with balanced acidity, quite fresh, some lower tones from anise. Probably at its best now.

This was overall disappointing; I love the 2010 vintage for it's balance, transparency, and freshness. This bottle however showed ripe fruit with a fair amount of wood, lots of tannin, and the balance just wasn't there. Maybe I broached it too early and this will come around, but right now it's not there.

This is a little astringent, earthy nose but not a lot of fruit on the palette. There is something slightly off with this, but I can't quite figure out what. Expected a little more from the 1er.

Red fruit. Softer than I thought it would be at this stage…tasty
