  • Cherry, pepper, and tannins but lacking robustness.

  • Forward nose of sweet, ripe cherry, roasted cocoa, and some alcohol. Sweetly ripe cherry soda flavors on the palate, with tarragon and awkwardly fuzzy, not-quite-ripe tannins. Dry (in terms of rs), but the vintage is very much on display here; to me this tastes more like a simple nero d'avola or Spanish garnacha, than Chianti. Really disappointing; I chose to drink water instead. You can bet I'm scratching my head over my note from last year, as it seems to describe a very different wine.

  • Classic young sangiovese, a little tight, with fresh sour cherry, bright acidity and chalky, earthy tannins. With time a pleasantly savory Bdx-like vegetal/tobacco leaf note emerges and adds complexity. Very clean, although somewhat hollow on the midpalate and finishes a bit short, perhaps due to the full if manageable tannins. I dunno about the previous TN but imo this is nowhere near "fully mature". However it does drink quite nicely now with an hour or two of air. I'll hold my other bottle for another year or two and see how it unwinds.

  • Medium red colorur, nice soft tannins, fully mature. Drunk with tappas (some spicy dishes), good match

  • The cork had actually leaked a little on my bottle, but it still seemed fine. This is a bold, strong, earthy wine. Some wood and spice, not too fruity. A medium length and solid body. Not too full, but definitely not weak. Semi-dry with just a touch of sweetness. A good, balanced wine to drink alone or pair with strong food.
