Needs an hour of O2. Some cherry, smokiness and chocolate and a bit of heat. For a Ribeiro more on the elegant Side of the spectrum. Not a bad wine but certainly not someting to remember. A bit underwhelming. I guess you could get a bigger bang for your buck.

One of my favourite wines. Promising nose and growing in taste. A good combination between characterful rioja and flavourful ribera. More finesse and elegance than the sometimes fruity riberas. A wine any guest will like.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #085; Spain: Ribera del Duero. (by EvA): In the bouquet dark forest fruits, rose hips and some chocolate. On the palate lush dark fruits, some licorice, elegant acidity and mild tannin. A really nice wine. Ready now and a future of a few years. More elegant style.

Nose: sweet cherry, prunes, vanilla, some red currant. Taste: smokey notes on top of black fruits with spice and smoke. Good enough balance, could be consumed on its own or as accompaniment to food. Somewhat one-dimentional, lacking grace and personality. Still a bit closed, could do with a few years of cellaring.

Good nose - fresh, buzzy although a little generic. Palate shows classy old world minerals, acid cut, spicy, and some darker red fruits lurk. Good potential here.
