One of my favourite wines of Spain. Hard to imagine how to make it better. Rich in tannins, balancd with acidity, deep flavours. Long lasting. Pretty sure everyone will like this one.

Clear, dark purple with ruby rim, slow wide tears. Clean, med intensity, aromas of cassis, chocolate, dark cherries and wicker baskets. Dry, med body, med + alcohol, med tannins with light acidity, reasonable complexity, fruity, further tastes of stewed blackberries and blueberries, marzipan, and pencil shavings. This is a reasonably priced delicious wine with decent length. (ASC wines)

NobleRottersSydney - Spanish Acquisition (Alio's, Surry Hills): [13.5%, cork, A$75] Youthful nose, a mixture of stewed cherries tinged with a slightly rustic note. The palate is very fresh, almost raw for a five-year-old wine, with the same bright dark cherry fruit flavours and litle overt oak. Tannins are grape-skin chewy, but gentle in texture. It’s only just medium bodied (certainly after the Roda Riserva!) but remains a solid if slightly anonymous wine with a medium-length finish.

Stars of the Melbourne Wine and Food Festival (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): This is an exceptional Tempranillo with a dense, rich, chocolate and herb nose, laced with dark cherry. The palette is spectacularly balanced with tannins and acid working together for an immense finish. I really like this one.
