After the corked bottle this was a relief. Dark fruit, iron and meaty notes. Hint of spice. Full and intense on the palate. This will get better as it evolves.

Opened at 11am for drinking at dinner, still right at the beginning but slowly opened and developed into a texturally complex compote of dark berries. Typical layered and complex concentrated juice from super old vines. This was beautiful but I could imagine this getting better with a few more years of cellaring.

Dark color, deep fruit, tannins are smooth. While this is accessible today, it feels restrained, like it's still holding a huge amount in reserve. The opulence is undeniable, and those who prefer primary fruit should appreciate it today, but still give it a lot of time in the glass. The peak is probably another 10-15 years away.

Some Wine Tasted at the Zachys La Paulée Auction; 3/10/2022-3/11/2022 (Le Bernardin Prive - New York NY): So sad, this was slightly heat damaged or stewed in some way.
