A wine of contradictions. Looks very developed for its 9yrs with a dark yellow hue. Would have picked it as 15yrs+. Tangy aged citrus fruits with hints of kero. Palate is weird but shows complexity. Tingy acid, fruit tingle minerals, yet undeniably aged with faint honey and kero. Finishes with a aniseed and dark fruited edge. Drink now.

NO. drink up this baby is on the way out. deep gold showing its oxidisation, with a fragile acidity and very little flinty edge, bit of fading petrol. Definitely fading.

My first Zind Humbrecht - I really like this style. Beautiful fat fruit and stoney minerality are balanced by bracing acidity. The sugar is pleasant but not overwhelming.
