Nice wine right now; dry, a richness that lingers but not in an over extracted way; Lemon, a touch of maybe papaya or some tropical fruit; Not necessarily petrol but something else I could not figure out, There are many layers in this Wine; It makes you think about where this wine is and what it Weill become; I have 2 more and will wait for 3 years or so for the next one

This wine has developed since 2020. Without doubt an outstanding wine. Delicate but a the same time high intensity/concentration. Dry, high acidity, med. alcohol, full body. Notes of kerosene, lemon and the finish also with a delicate pineapple. I loved it! It is difficult to believe it will get better in the cellar as it is perfect right now.

Tasting Ground official tasting, 2016 Zind Humbrecht (Oinoscent): Bottling date: February 2018 Alcohol: 12.5 ° Residual sugar: 8 g/l Total Acidity: 4.2 g/l H2SO4 pH: 3.14 Yield: 41 hl/ha Optimum drinking period: 2020-2036+ Vineyard planted in 1973 Terroir: Calcareous Marl (Oligocene period). Very gentle slope Indice: 1 -/- Round, fruity (all this considerer), lime, lemon peel, the same smoke notes as the Heimbourg, mineral, stony and tight. Palate is round, high acidity, citrus extract, mineral, long finish. There was something strange for me here (possible cork) but everyone else found it alright, so it was just me

The wine is clear, with pale lemon color, and watery rims. On the nose the wine is clean, with medium plus aroma intensity of white flowers perfume, ripe white fruits, lemon, lemon tart, lemon pie, honey, mineral notes, hints of petroleum. On the palate the wine is off-dry, with medium plus acidity, medium body, medium alcohol, medium flavor intensity of honey, lemon, lemon tart, white ripe fruits, lychee, yellow apples, melon, mineral notes. The wine is of a good quality, due to its length and complexity aromas profile. It is appealing at time of tasting, but finish was quite short than one expected from such wine, and lacking some flavor complexity characteristics. It might benefit from further aging, in order to further develop the typical petroleum profile.

Zind-Humbrecht Tasting (Erik Sørensen Denmark (kg arr.)): 93+/100. Aromas/flavours of stonefruit, kerosene and wet stone (steely). Off dry, high acidity, med+ body, pronounced intensity, long finish. Very good wine. Can drink now but has definitely ageing potential. That is obvious when you compare it to vintage '08, which is far more complex and has more tertiary notes.
