Medium nose of red fruit, earth and hint of chocolate. Palate has round fruit and juicy acidity. Honest and simple Merlot flavors. Very good balance of fruit and acids. Fruit is still there but somehow these feels past its prime or stuck on dull plateau. Good but not interesting or exceptional.

Popped and poured out of 375. Inky purple color with a reticent dark currant and floral nose. Palate is concentrated, jammy and heady. Black currants and licorice on the palate. Big bodied and quite tannic. This baby is still unevolved and needs serious air or more cellar time. Promising. (4+11+16+7=88+)

Tasted at Tannins. Great complexity. Truly "yummy." These vines were planted by Frank Lore Wood and the heritage is evident. A $60 price tag is warranted.
