Very good 89. Maybe the "problem" is that a short while before I had 2010 and it was absolute fantastic, so 2008 is in its shadow but a very good wine. I love to see the difference between the years. 2008 is leaner, lighter and tends towards red berry while 2010 has stronger but rounder tannin and darker berry aromas. We had 2008 over 3 evenings and it was a plesaure from the start to the end. Very good wine.

Smooth, medium-dark fruit. Some hints of vanilla and fudge, but the oak is quite well integrated by now. Nice drink but a bit polished and honestly too much of a mainstream wine.

Lovely colour - brownish burgundy, hints of plain chocolate and dried blood. Huge nose: big black fruits - berries, cherries and currants - but hints also of truffle, inkiness, smoke and a little pepper; at times liquorice too. Big black fruit palate. Very dry and leafy, some tannins - not sure how much structure to sustain it - but still some sweetness. Big finish: black fruits become greener and some sourness. A big, challenging and rewarding wine.

Well that is an noticeable step up from the Sela. More pronounced in every way. This is all from older vineyards - 40 year old plus. This was what used to be Roda II. Now Roda Reserva.
And more integrated then Sela as well.

Cool blue fruits on the nose and roast bread or pan grill from the tempranillo. Seemless on the palate with really great length. That is tasty wine.
