Last of a case of 12 that I feared I'd left too long before liberating from storage. Fortunately, I had no reason to be apprehensive. Consistently with previous bottles, this was still a vibrant purple-red, creamy dark cherry and plum on the nose, something that made me think sous bois, fresh and appetising on the palate. Still drinking really well and all you could hope it to be, really.

Youthful, dark purple. Black fruit on the nose. Plum, and blackberry. Almost stewed fruit. character. On the palate, mix of black and blueberry. Coffee and cocoa. Rather elevated alcohol. Quite dry initially with a pronounced acidity and bitterness on the back end. The acidity makes this very food friendly. Tannins a little strong straight out of the bottle but softened after about 30 minutes in the glass. Fruit sweetness also came out after about 30 minutes. Medium length. Good now, especially with food, but I think has a bit of room for improvement. Maybe try again in another year.

Dark ruby. Medium intensity nose with black cherry and lavender. Palate is herb-filled and delivers a basket full of fresh fruit. Awash in juicy acidity. Easy drinking and pleasant.

Some Barberas (Lou's): I would have thought this would show better. I liked it a bit more than the group even. Purple/ruby and cloudy. Cherries and cranberries with a very wide streak of green. It did seem balanced but quite simple on the palate. Light cherries. Is this a proper bottle? I don't know, but I can't identify a fault per se.
