  • This pours light garnet in the glass with medium plus bricking. The nose is precocious but shows glimpses of lovely mature burgundy. Aromas are of grilled pork, hoisin, charcoal, red cherry, ripe raspberry, fresh strawberry, dried ginger powder, forest floor dried orange peel, and a whiff of menthol. The palate is light, airy, and elegant showing bright red fruit with a light dried citrus tinge, tannin is very fine grained and fairly low, with medium acid which is again lightly citrus and red fruit tinged. There is a touch of iron and bitterness on the finish, but then the finish fans out to replay much of the nose. This was at it's best after 3+ hours after opening the bottle so I wouldn't hesitate to give this some air. Great wine that has held up very well.
