Third vintage I've tried recently from this producer, and the third unique vintage expression I've experienced. This is a relatively dark fruited, deep and textured Franc. The typical tobacco and pepper characteristics are forward, in a good way. Nice length and balance with integrated tannic structure. Feels like a mix of old world character with the roundness and silky middle of a new world red.

Dark cherries, bright plum, smoke, hints of bell pepper (which I enjoy), and occasional herbaceousness. Nicely balanced, fresh, and bright. More savoury notes right on opening vs after being open for a while. Finish resolves to herbs - rosemary? Accidentally left it open overnight on the counter. Recorked in the morning. It had lost some of its interest, but held up remarkably well.

Falltacular 2015 (FMIII in the OC): Cab Franc purist rejoice, this is right on for a CF. May not be a crowd pleasure but wine geeks will appreciate the fresh green bell pepper and spice jalapeño nose and palate.
