  • Reliving a bit of our summer Alsace trip as Paul Blanck was one of the wineries we visited. Ordered a 6 pack from our local winestore and paid $35 per. Pulled out the tasting sheet from our trip and at the winery this was 19 euros - oh well, should have brought a bunch back. This GC Riesling is ripe and rich, mainly apricot but other stone fruit as well. Tastes like a bit of residual sugar as well but that is well balanced by the bracing acidity - absolutely loving this wine, ah the memories!!!

  • Medium plus nose shows floral components, white flowers, jasmine, orange zest, hint of petrol, slate, tropical fruit like kiwi, mango. Palate shows slightly off-dry, high acidity, stone fruit driven with apricot pith, peach puree, rocky minerality. Finish has a weird note, like banana or something, then back to petrol and hint of sweetness. Also a little hot, especially for Riesling.
