Light mahogany to browning rim. Initial savoury notes with old leather, shoe polish, sous Bois and baking soda give way to raspberry, boysenberry, turned earth, and a stale element? Lots of tertiary notes on the palate with undergrowth dried raspberry and forest fruits. There is a bit of succulence to the texture, but this wine is not only past its best but seems to lack much material in the mid-palate making the wine feel very lightweight. The tannins have a tar-like feel to them, and the medium finish has a raspberry honey note.

13% alc; light+ ruby; soft nose, some development with iron fillings yet also with a lift to it. Light to medium bodied on first sip, with a lively acdiity but then unfortunately a fly flew into the glass so never got to taste it further!

Unfiltered light medium ruby color, ripe red cherries, roses, and baking spice on the nose. Gulpably structured, with light tannins and mouth-filling fruit and acidity. Not the greatest Drouhin I've ever had, but quite nice for the price in France (pricier in the US). Drink sooner than later. :: Chez Fernand, Paris 11/2013

Probably past. Slightly tired with port-like nose and palette.
