Evolving very nicely now. Rich and concentrated, full silky smooth mouthfeel. Decadent, and if I'm allowed, masculine. Yet another lesson in patience! Superb.

The best showing so far. Elegant. The nose is more expressive, the palate more weighty, savoury and silk, the tannins more resolved. This is very long. Easy going; not a Chambertain blockbuster, think Morey.

Surprisingly soft and relaxed but persistent long length, pretty black fruit, it's the more polished Eton version of the previous showing. As a grammar boy, I prefer the meatiness of the previous showing.

Dense and meaty, with a touch of sweet red fruit making a cameo later on before a complex mineral, blackberry, liquorice finish of considerable length. No hint of green. Whatever hangnails this may had previously have been polished off beautifully. Excellent.

La Paulée de San Francisco - The Verticals (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Very pretty black and blue fruit comes across as lighter, more stylish and approachable than typical for Chambertin. Still has a rough edge on the finish that I hope softens.
