Dégustation Volnay/Chambolle 2015: Un nez délicat et floral. Très joli vin, jouant sur l'élégance et la finesse, avec un coté minéral en finale. Très bon, quoique peut-être pas à la hauteur de ce cru. 93 pts

Tasting, brief note. Open an hour+ before tasted. Black and red cherry with some sauvage, meaty spice and fresh mushroom notes. Very good density and length, even if still somewhat firm/backward on finish.
Gassed overnight and re-tasted the following day, at which time this came across as leaner and less powerful. So while I think there is still upside here, I'd focus on a drinking window through 2028, but not much longer.

Tasting at Maison Camille Giroud...Barrel and Library (Beaune): Tasted at the maison. Popped and poured. Red and black fruit with dense, meaty spice and sauvage hints. Started very firm on palate, very tight with lots of tannins and acidity, really begging for plenty more time in the cellar. Revisited approximately one hour later and it was significantly more enjoyable because (1) the structure certainly softened, (2) more enticing spice emerged.

(Camille Giroud Chambertin) Light red color with pale meniscus; appealing, roses, tart cherry nose; tight, savory, sous bois, mineral, dried red fruit palate; needs 4-5 years; medium-plus finish

Un vin équilibré, fin, expressif avec une certaine maturité mais ayant un fruit rouge pur, une belle longueur. Superbe.
An expressive, classy and balanced wine showing some maturity with pure fruit, very very nice, loved it.

Horizontal Volnay/Chambolle 1er cru 2015: blind... very much the typical pinot you hope to land on when you open a grand cru. Red fruit and a long finish
