Very nice, if odd aromas. It's an interesting mix of steely notes you may find in a Sauvignon blanc, coupled with notes of heavy toasted oak chips. There's a strong burning honeydew melon component as well, but it's coated in that oak butter. Very rich, creamy, lush body, with more of that oak butter flavor and sweet honeydew melon. Mild acidity that keeps some RS in check. Some grassy notes too. Good dial up of acid on the finish, which is very creamy and lingers some time with that notion. While this wine certainly feels manufactured, it's overall fairly palatable. A nice effort for my first experience with Indian white wine.

From the wine list at Kyber, in Mumbai. Veered from my Riesling-centered week in India (a local warned me away from the Sula Riesling.) My first Indian wine. This was aromatic but crisply acidic and only slightly oily: surprisingly correct viognier. Others at the table drank the shiraz from same producer, but I thought this went well with various dishes, most importantly with the lamb brain on toast...Yeah. Fortunately, I had more viognier, plus Anjolie Ela Menon murals to help me through.

In the bouquet white and yellow fruits. On the palate ripe yellow fruits, some vanilla and grapefruit. Overall an aromatic wine with ok acidity.

Weekly tasting group #122; A mixed set of exotic wines (@ DJ): See previous note; this bottle gave much less pleasure than the previous because a whole candy factory passed by with a lot of sweetness.
