We tossed the bottle. It is oxidized with a really displeasing nose. Very difficult to get by the nose and taste anything. We have two bottles. I'll try to wait a while before popping the other to hopefully forget this experience and give the next bottle a fresh look. Nothing to like here.

35yr old Pinot Gris vines from Tegan's Kirschenmann Vineyard eastern Lodi, which I believe are now grafted over to Chenin Blanc? 15% whole cluster, the wine shows a cantaloup color, and an oxidative nose. Hmmm...don't know about this? Ok, lets think Jura? Soft and waxy feel, with a surprisingly fresh citrus lift...tart blood orange, peach, rainier cherry...little musky and yeasty...dried flowers florals, chalky minerals, nice citrus zip on the finish. The ox is well integrated after some air...more so the style of the wine, rather than going over the hill. Seems pretty darn fresh still...and the wonderful softness and texture from the vineyard is evident. Initially thought I was going to hate this, but it's actually quite nice!

Pale salmon color. A distinct oxidative note along with apples, pears and dried apricot. Definitely a unique wine but because of that I like it.
