  I think I under estimated this wine; it is still very dark and potent at the age of 14. The tannins were very robust and some what coarse and overwhelming the wine. I can sense some potential underlying, but this needs another decade. My only bottle so I won't get to find out. A very classic Chinon nose with blackberry and bramble fruit, green tobacco, green pepper, and violet. The pyrazines are pretty prominent.

  By the way, I am traveling every year to Chinon to spend some time in the vineyard, the Clos de chêne vert is situated on a steep slope, in south exposition, beautiful. Compared to the other top notch cuvée of Joguet, the Clos de la Dioterie, on flatter land and exposed to the north, this one is ready some years earlier.

  Wow! Thank you Kermit Lynch for the recommendation! Awesome value @ £34.
  
  PnP. Lovely dark red color. Nose has meat, earth, and dark fruit on it. Palate is balanced between raspberry and smoke. Wine has great depth but also wonderful texture. I can’t find anything wrong with this! Excellent producer!
