  2011 is a light-footed vintage in my view, and this wine is also missing a bit in depth and concentration compared to other vintages. It is however still fine and I highly appreciate Claveliers ability to keep a freshness and elegance on the quite heavy Corton terroir. The wines shows notes of aging with some starting fungal notes, but still have a light blueberry fruit, and a little touch of burned coffee beans. It fades out a bit on the mid-palate but has a good freshness in its acidity. Will not keep my last bottle much longer though as I would be doubtful if the fruit will stay much longer.

  Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of medium ruby colour, with wide fading rim and legs.
  Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of red fruit of raspberry and cherries, sweet spice of clove, mineral notes of earth, floral notes of violet, oak notes of toast, maturity notes of forest floor, dairy notes of cream. The wine is developing.

It is ready to drink now though can benefit from further ageing of another 3-5 years.

  Beautiful ruby red color with red cherry, earth and spice on the nose. The palate shows medium body with sweet tannins and red cherries. This wine is very sophisticated, especially for a Corton. I find Rognet to be one of the best sub-plots within the larger Corton Grand Cru vineyard and Clavelier does not disappoint. Drinking well now (with a 2 hour decant) but optimum window is probably between 8 and 12 years from the vintage.
