Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 93.3 points

  • Slow ox for 5-6 hours before drinking. Tart but ripe cherries with plenty of stony minerals, loam, and a piney resin/menthol note across the palate. Very silky with some tannic grip at the back end. A wine that is simultaneously lithe and powerful. The fruit brings an initial sweetness with some menthol and piney bitterness on the finish but this is more about the acidity. There is excellent balance though and drive across the palate. I found this an intellectual wine that I had to come to, to fully appreciate, rather than one that immediately offers up all its treasures. Excellent now but I suspect it will be better in 5 years time.

  • Black cherries, soil, saline notes. The fruit is ripe, dense and mouth coating. Powerful with a good length.
