  • Atlanta Musigny & Chevy Dinner: PnP. So much here. Nose jumped out of the glass from the instant it was poured. I could just smell it all night. Rich and deep with layers of purple fruits and a finish that goes on and on. WOTF and maybe Musigny of the night for me.

  • A little mint, cherry, great depth, still fairly youthful with excellent balance of fruit and structure.

  • Jasper Musigny. Deep cherry aromatics. Strawberry palate. Fractionally more energy than 1989. Good wine that lacks wow factor.

  • I started a Musigny Mugnier vertical dinner with this wine and unsurprisingly it was the weakest in the lineup. The ripeness and roundness of the vintage comes across, but it lacks the elegance and the fresh acidity to elevate this to a great bottle. Did not drink clean, bright or precise like virtually all the other bottles in this vertical lineup.

Rockss and Fruit

(Mugnier Musigny) Huge almost California like ripeness upon being opened. Could not tell it was Musigny at all. No complex floral tones or anything. Just heavy red fruit. Very layered and rich palate but not showing much nuance at this point. Clamps down on the finish. Kept closing more and more as the night went along. At one point all it smelled liked was chamomile tea. The palate also showed much more apparent acidity. And eventually the nose was not giving much of anything at the end of the night. Lots of potential here but needs many years.
