La Paulée de Meursault (Château de Meursault): Subtil et parfumé, des tanins soyeux à un niveau de très grand vin. Bouche à la texture aérienne et délicat, d’une suavité exceptionnelle. Fabuleux! 97 pts

Showing a touch of undergrowth and orange zest development. There are briary fruits with a savoury edge. It has intense vinous sweetness at its core and something cool and stony lurking. There’s fresh minerally acidity and good persistence.

Drinking Some Great Mugnier as an Hommage to Becky Wasserman (Republique - Los Angeles CA): In 99/01/02/05 vertical, preceded by the same vintages of Amoureuses. Riper, more spiced and more fleshy vs 2001, but with less power or finesse. This also starts out as a charming wine with that weightlessness that thrills me in the best Chambolle and Mugnier wines, while then popping in its long finish. A slight fraction behind the 2001 for me tonight.

Wines Enjoyed at John Kapon's 50th Birthday Bash (The Pool - New York NY): Small glass from magnum, brief note. A powerhouse with near perfect elegance and balance, and the minerality and weightless textures you can only find in great Chambolle.

JK's 50th Birthday: Magnum, clean, weighty, still a little behind the 01 drank in the morning. 95
