Madiran and the Wines of Alain Brumont (Vinothique, Queen's Road, Singapore): An unsual sweet wine, from Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh. The local varietals from this AOC, Arrufiac, Courbu and Petit Manseng, must make up at least 60% of the blend. This particular bottling is Petit Manseng based. Golden yellow in colour, it had an attractice nose which showed honeysuckle, must, ginger and biscuity tones. Mix all this up and I got a distinct gingerbread aroma - very nice. The palate was round and soft, with seductive flavours of crystalline apricot candy. Sweet, but not cloying. It finished with a dusty, dusky kiss. It may have needed a touch more acid and was rather simple, but still very pleasant, friendly and rather yummy/

More a final course wine than a dessert wine, as it's only lightly sweet. Surprisingly delicate flavors of peach and apricot — nicely balanced and finishes clean. It ain't Royal Tokaji, but it ain't pancake syrup, neither.

Octobre of course. Always reliable and excellent value. Full coloured, drinking really well now but has certainly got plenty of life in it.

Clear amber. A sweet apricot, dairy nose. Apricot, peach and coffee flavours. Not as sweet as the nose in the finish. Very nice QPR.
