DnP Beautiful brick coloured, orange tinged, 4.5 Generous classic Medoc bouquet, pencil, cedar, still some blackcurrant lingering in the back of it all. Quite austere on the palate, l+T, mA, m-B, dry, elegant and balanced, somewhat lacking fruit but with charcuterie it went very well. Drink now - onwards Surprisingly fine considering the pedigree of the chateau.

I had my doubts even before popping to cork based on Stephen Brook's comments on the estate. I have to agree with him on the simplicity of this wine and the lack of wow factor, but this is extremely well aged Bordeaux that is just a sheer pleasure to sip (yes I said sip). If you can find this on a bargain bin at an auction or still have some in the cellar, pop open the cork (be careful though, it's very fragile) and enjoy! It should pair well with any poultry or light preparation of meat.
Somehow I had some roasted chicken and thoroughly enjoyed them together. Fruit was still alive but the wine went south about hour or so after opening. Pop and drink up!!!
