Outstanding. This wine is all about richness and balance. Beautiful aromas of white flowers, lemon, brown sugar, hazelnut, mineral. Great experience in the mouth with fruit weight and sweetness supported by fresh acidity. Light though, almost ethereal. Fruit flavors of concentrated lemon custard and white peach are very persistent, lingering for a while on the tongue. Fully integrated, all parts are in balance. IN a great drinking window.

A banger of a way to start an evening. So fresh and chalky, with a torrent of fine bubbles and seaspray. Fresh red apple, a touch of brioche and autolytic umami, and a ton of crushed rock, giving it tension and lift. Acidity is present but in no way overwhelming. Hardly any evolved notes at all and I could imagine going another 10 years. So very, very moreish.

Dinner with the wine group - Champagne and Sushi (Shoshin Sushi): Light golden, just a touch darker than Krug and Taittinger; aromatic, citrus oil, yeast and brioche, nice complexity; long finish. Really lovely. 93

Rich and savory with very good freshness. Dried fruit, intermixed with spices, tertiary elements. Excellent with the fried ginger froglegs.
