Camensac, 2012. Semi Lucent, Ruby/purple with pinky tint. Profound fresh eucalyptus, dark licorice and lesser red fruit and sawdust(new oak). Easy attack, dry, medium+ acidity, medium furry tannin, hot alcohol in the throat(13+), medium body. Some vanilla and eucalyptus in the short finish. Good balance, short length, acceptable intensity(not really on the palate) acceptable complexity. Very good. (Quick review: Sunny vintage, from southern haut medoc, cab dominant, matured in slightly toasted new oak). High acidity, eucalyptus, dark purple tint and furry tannin make it something Cab, more than Syrah and Pinot. The dark licorice means at least southern haut medoc. For the dry style, indicating old world. For the firm tannin cab dominant blend, indicating the left bank. For the sawdust smell and vanilla finish, a touch with new French oak in maturation. For the short aftertaste, a simply good wine. For the hot and alcoholic image, it is a young wine from a sunnier vintage. Typical bordeaux. Drink now and with 2-4 years to go for the maturing tannin and average intensity.

Blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot. Nice garnet color. Very interesting expressive nose of floral savon, cinnamon, raspberry & some oak, but the unique nose decreases with time. Or maybe fermented blackcurrant and gunpowder. Dry, medium bodied. Medium minus finish with notes of earth, mushroom, old oak, spices like clove and menthol. Not really rich and savory but quite enjoyable. The wine got worse on the 2nd day, while most wines get better. So I degraded it to 87.

Nothing not to like here. Not amazing but with lots of hard tannin structure. So its a bit drying but its all there.

À revoir dans 5 ans.
Quoique... la fin de la bouteille est un peu mince... Probablement une phase ingrate. Prochaine en 2022+.
