  • Generally, I prefer younger Domaine Leroy (from 2000s) as I have had a mixed bag of quality from Leroy between 1988-99, I find them lack the extraordinary floral charm that young Leroy offers (and no, white cap Maison is not even close to the Domaine quality!). The 1999 Genevrieres is up to scratch with the splendid 2009, offering a dazzling bouquet of sweet raspberry, rose petals, and smoked game note that I relate to in this commune. Smooth tannins with an exotic oak spice touch, and nuanced complexity from head to toe. The 99 has the depth and balance to last for a decade more at least. (93/100)

  • Vosne spice and Leroy secret sauce from the first whiff, this was showing well pop and pour. Continued to glide along elegantly in the glass, a beautiful wine. I would expect this to continue to mature nicely, but it would be no crime to drink now.

  • This wine is villages in name only, this is very serious wine indeed. Classic Vosne spice leaps out of the glass, and the palate has some serious tea notes, a la La Tache. And what a finish! Long, elegant, and complete. This wine is so easy to drink, the bottle went rather quickly. I'm guessing this wine would be better in time, but I would have a hard time keeping my hands off it.

  • Medium red in color with slight brownish rim, slightly cloudy. Leroy floral nose, spices with quite a bit of tar and earthy notes. More rustic version of this wine, with more dark fruit and earth. Finish not particularly long, good red burgundy but cannot compare with 01 or 02 version of this wine.

  • Cloudy. Signature Leroy spice on the nose. Very ripe red and black fruit. Bordering on over-ripe. She took it to the edge, but didn't go over. Medium depth, great fruit and energy. Nice tension. Medium ++ finish with great grip and noticeable, but pleasant, tannin.
