Opened last night - bottle drank very well and got high praise from our guests. Don't despair if you are holding onto a bottle (but don't wait too much longer either).

Served with Beef Bourginon at a friend’s dinner party. Light to mid-weight, velvety without being cloying. A real crowd pleaser. As a side note, was worried wine might be corked, with some mildew showing when foil came off. Both bottles turned out to be fine.

Nose: Underbrush, bark and celery show w/ red fruit hints. Palate: Quite feminine like the last bottle (notes on 9/9/13) with red fruits much more prominent due to acid and tannin integration from 7 1/3 years sideways. Acids are still there but well worn and the tannin is almost non-existant so my last bottle will not sleep much longer (perhaps 1-2 years). Nice strawberry nuances. Still 91 points and a good example of a feminine styled, well aged Beaune 1er.

Solid wine; not especially complex but quite pretty and easy to drink now, showing plenty of bright red fruit and herbs, and a whiff of oak in the background that doesn't distract from the other flavours.
