What a great wine! Notes of red fruit, raspberry, kirsch, garrigue, a litrle leather and some fine tannins on the finish. We mostly had this after the sushi / sashimi feast, b/c CDP is a favorite of our friend Kirstin. And it was a perfect ending to the meal.
Drink now or hold.
Label said it was a blend of 50% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 12% Mourvedre, 8% Cinsault and 15% in various others.

Broke my streak of overly sweet CDPs recently. Classic nose of red fruit, violets, old library book, and earth. On the palate, this is drinking really well right now with lush kirsch and raspberry notes, garrigue, black pepper and leather. Still has some tannins, but brings along all of the flavors for a long and pleasant finish. Just starting to all integrate fully, but think this is still on the upswing. Went great with ribs.

Rule the Rhone; 10/27/2016-11/3/2016 (Northern & Southern Rhone): Neoclassic style which means mostly concrete vats but 20% in new oak (only new) for about a year. This was a funny wine. I got bananas on the nose and bananas on the palette at first which isn't something I expect from a red wine. It feels like it has more of the stuffing to sit down and cellar but then there's also a touch of disjointed feel to it so wonder if it will pull itself together. Can taste the oak which after a few others feels more intense. Maybe a hint of red currant.

Light in color, soft in texture, ripe in fruit and forward in its cherry and red plum character, the wine was produced from a blend of 50% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 12% Mourvedre, 8% Cinsault and the remainder coming from assorted varietals, the wine reached 15% alcohol.
