Corked! Really a pity since we could tell that, behind that impenetrable wall of TCA, there was yet some good life in the fruit. Shucks. #wetcardboard4dayz

Surprisingly light in colour as it was poured but what appeared to be a light bodied wine was more towards medium in weight. Very soft and velvety with no noticeable tannin. Hard to pull out specific descriptors but lots of different sensations largely around red fruits.
I'd call this fully mature and I don't doubt that it would hold on for a couple more years, but doesn't have the acidity or tannin to go another decade.

A little closed at first. Decanted. Opening up to plum, tar and licorice flavors. Beautiful silky mouthfeel. After a few hours deteceted a slight prune or raisiny note. Still a very soulful and satisfying wine.

Opaque purple/black with thick tears. Nose is very open now. Ripe black cherry and blackberry coulis on a mountain of bittersweet chocolate with a dolop of licorice, black pepper and provencale herbs and a touch of fading oak in the background. Ripe tannins kick in on the finish and then let go. The texture was almost palpable. It will no doubt reward patience but on the other hand this was my only bottle and I have no regrets on having opened this now.
