  • Such and interesting wine. First night I was good but only. It died quickly with too much air over an hour or so. A sealed bottle of half opened on night two was just fantastic. Long, fresh but with age, leathered acid driven hunter goodness. Great tannin finish.

  • (Bo's Bday Brunner + JM farewell - for now) Rich red berries, aromatic purple spices, cedar shavings, clean and somewad monolithic initially upon pouring, with hint iodine. Luscious translucent red fruit with streaky acid brightness, fennel/licorice, finishing with soft, classy ferrousness. An effortless mid-bodied Hunter, without any of that over-the-top machismo. Paired perfectly with Ben's stout-braised brisket - YUM!

  • Wine-Ark boys on tour - Hunter Valley 2014 - Day 2 (Hunter Valley): Muted black pepper and plum aromas with very slight cedar. After considerable agitation the wine opens to reveal a resin and aniseed note. In the mouth the wine has medium plus acid, black pepper and plum with medium plus intensity talc like tannin. The medium plus length carries slight spice and a bit of alcohol warmth. Hmm
