Etihad Business CLass & Lounges; 11/20/2017-11/24/2017 (Sydney, Abu Dhabi, Frankfurt): {screwcap, 13.5%} Mid yellow, still with a flash of green. Aged. Smoke and petroleum. Palate is broad, with greasy peach and nectarine flavours. Not much oak apparent, but there’s a grape-skin quality to the texture. It finishes a bit watery though, low-key, but fairly even in its gentle impression across the palate. Ready to drink. Someone in Etihad clearly has a thing for older South African whites. Or else they’re very cheap and available in bulk.
