OK, this wine is past it's prime at almost 6 years old now. It had that sweet, creamy, new world characteristic that I don't care for. Not much oak to latch onto either. Decent amount of body but overly fruity. OK for $8/9. I think Washington state reds (Petite Syrah, Cab Sauvignon) at $1 to $4 more per bottle are a better buy.

Thought this was a perfectly acceptable example of this underrated varietal. Very dark purple color, pleasing, spicy nose. Very pronounced blackberry and bramble profile, soft tannins, with a long and pleasing finish. A bit on the light side, and perhaps lacking assertiveness, but I found this to be pleasant drinking.

This was perfectly fine vino at a very nice price. One thing about ravenswood, even their low end wines don t short change you on flavor!
