(Non-France) Pinot Noirs of North London (Must & Lees, Warren Street): This was probably the wine I was most looking forward to, but alas it definitely wasn't my favourite on the night. Evolved, gamey, ashy nose. Biggish and a touch warm, and wanted more energy on the finish. I liked this quite a bit at first, but it became hard going - the Riverby ran rings around it.

Non-french Pinot Noir (Must & Lees, Warren Street): Medium red. Glorious developed nose, it's all here, excellent. Delicate and tasty, great freshness at the age, simply a very classy wine with to my mind a near perfect balance between bitter and sweet tones. This was #3 of the night, just pipped by the Newton Johnson which was on song, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy a case of this and hold it for 5+ years.

TWS North London - Pinot Noir ex-France (Must & Lees, Warren Street): Mushroomy, developing nicely with an inner saturation and perfume. Classy and confident: resolved, smooth, round palate with fresh acidity. Drinking beautifully.

Under screwcap. Tasted vis-a-vis the Cornish Point, this is richer, sexier, show more spice, coffee, toffee, strawberries.
