The last bottle and a pleasant surprise as a bottle of the 2008 "regular" Pinot Noir was not good a few weeks ago. This has held up well with the tannins still quite firm but doubt it will get any better and may well be at or near its peak. Good nose of strawberries and it contiuned to open up as we drank this wine.

NobleRottersSydney - Otago Pinot (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney): {screwcap, 14%} (Graeme) Bright strawberry nose, just a little aged, still with a bit of a hard edge to it. The palate is silky-textured though. It’s more dark plum on the palate ; there was also a slightly gluey note which blew off quickly. Maybe decant next time? Soft oak. Super-fine gritty medium strength tannins, medium acid. At least medium-bodied; a part of this does still remain a bit closed despite the medium length finish; I really think this should age another 5 years at least. Has a sense of having not quite reached its potential yet.

Dark ruby in colour. Weak nose with dampened berries, forest floor and some heat. A very new world Pinot with hot weather signature and clear oak influence. Low in acidity. All-in-all, it's at MSD village level.

Case of six drank during 2014, all very enjoyable.
Ripe, airy, raspberries and cherries on the nose. Sweet ball of dark cherries on the palate with earthy depth. Good drive, concentration and lift on the finish. Maybe slightly hot on the finish, but this would be nitpicking, as this is a very good Otago pinot.

Spicy, silky, fruity - strawberries here - some richesse as well, opens quite heavy, but finds its feet. very nice - too expensive.
