  • A very interesting wine. Limpid yellow color.
Old fashioned in style as it is slightly oxidative, it has lots of oak which is not new and fruitiness is
not its most prominent feature. Coarse if I can use this adjective for the nose, nutty with a minerality that
reminded me of Santorini Assyrtiko wines.
Surprisingly on the palate there was a streak of pure lemon flavor. Nice and food friendly wine.
The wine is already four years old and its style could be due to aging but I doubt it without having
tasted a younger vintage - I think it is the way it is made.

  • A very interesting and characterful wine, though far from being technically perfect in the "modern" sense of the term. Bright straw yellow with golden hues. Expressive and unique nose of sweet creamy oak, white peach, herbs, ripe apple, sweet spice and nutty scents. Some hints of oxidation are noticeable but perfectly integrated and by no means annoying to all but the single-minded fans of technical perfection. Unfortunately, the palate is not on par with the nose, being somewhat diluted besides being elegant and perfectly balanced. Aftertaste is medium to short but very pleasing and refreshing. Great value for a barrel fermented white. Old-fashioned, traditional white Rioja of truly distinctive character. It is good that such wines are still produced, othewise the world of wine would have been so unform...
