  • Cloudy orange hue, with a bit of oxidation that blows off in a few minutes. Clean palate marked by depth and finesse. Lengthy finish. Really good in the Conterno sensory glass.

  • Hard to rank by commen standards, so I refrain from giving a score. Obviously this wine won’t make the cut for an DOC, since its obvious flaws as most orange wines (oxidation, volatile acidity, ...)
Nevertheless this is definitely interesting. Once you swirl away the funky, cheesy off notes, there is some sour Apple (Granny Smith), honey and some flowers.
The palate is quite advanced and has a firm grip with loads of tannins (it went for 2-3 weeks through maceration), in a black tasting glas it would be hard to differentiate this let’s say from a gamay based vin naturel.
Visited the winery a couple years ago and even if it’s not my favorite wine style, one of the better examples for full throttle orange wines. I think from agebility perspective this could hold really long.

  • Slightly cloudy burnt orange color - a lot like an aged cider.

Expressive nose of honeysuckle, apricots, a and a leesy-cheesy element.

Quite a creamy texture. Grippy and slightly bitter palate of maple, honey and apricots. Finishes firm, warm and quite spicy (touch of hot pepper).

    Bottle notes no sulphites added.

Probably not for everyone, but a top shelf example of orange wine for my palate.

  • Oxydized nose, dry marmalade, no residual sugar. Well made, but not my style.

In bocca è tannico, citrino, fresco, molto persistente.
Prezzo importante.
