Popped and enjoyed over two night. This was slightly more giving on night two and the tannin mellowed out a bit. Classic Barolo nose although not extremely aromatic. Rustic on the palate and lacking enough fruit or body to balance out the rustic tannin. This one may surprise but I'm not sure it will ever achieve balance. If I had more bottles, I'd wait 10 years and hope for the best.

RPM Italian White Truffle Dinner (RPM Italian, Chicago, IL): This is a real pretty and refined Barolo right out of the gate with red cherries, strawberries, sour red berries, savory herbs, licorice, a touch of balsamico, raspberries, wild spices, and some truffle tones. The Medium bodied feel is poised and elegant with tart, high acidity and silky, high tannins. The structure has peeled back a good bit, but it still is a 96. This can be such a hit or miss wine and I'm really happy that this was a good hit.

Got served a tiny tiny pour at the Danish Blind Tasting Championship 2021.
Delicate garnet in the glass with quite the orange tones.
The nose is forrest floor, tobacco and dried cherries.
The taste was acidic with some dusty red berries and dried florals. It might have peaked. But honestly hard to really assess from such a small pour.
Served blind I immediately knew it was old Nebbiolo.

Good showing. Good body, balanced, mellow tannins on the finish.
