  Minty, ripe red cherry, pungent spices, ripe and fleshy. Impressive depth with a lot of nuance.

  LWS Barolo Through the Decades: Double decanted one hour before serving. Medium garnet color. Fungal and blue cheese aromas initially, eventually offering up licorice. Medium-plus body, strong tannins, medium-plus acvid. Dark cherries, orange peel, mellowing with air. Nice fruit and a savory finish. Still too young, but tasty.

  From magnum this was very shy at first. With air it really got going. There were delightful pastel, jube-like fruit aromas and flavours. It has some rose petal perfume and a hint of mint. It was deep, yet compact, with so mi=uch great underlying material ready to unfurl after proper bottle age. Lovely balance.
