Blinded at my friend’s dinner. What an interesting bottle of wine. I guessed Barolo, but also thought it could be a right bank Merlot dominant blend. Very intrigued by this bottle and would be interested in buying some for the future.
Little bit of animal, little bit of barnyard on the nose. Had some dark red fruits that are overlaying mineralogy. Palate is very nice and actually pretty integrated right now. I think there’s some acidity in the structure here that gives it a little bit brightness. Little bit of dried fruit note as well. This is in a great place, nice long finish, a bit drying with structure there. right now it is a nice long finish little bit of dry and structure up on that as well. I think in terms of Syrah, this is very pure and very good. Probably 95.

Gorgeous deep ruby-garnet color with zero color degradation. Slate, clay, red flowers, and a strong mustiness on the nose. Black raspberry notes with strong rose petals, but it’s a bit flat. A touch of black licorice and boysenberry on the finish. It doesn’t feel like this is a temporary slump.

3 hour decant
No formal notes but it was drinking beautifully. Really enjoyed where this wine was right now.

Slow ox one hour. Funkiness/earth and smoke on the nose. Palate very well balanced with dark fruit and gamey with little bit of iron. Drinking great
