(feeding lisa) Dark garnet in the glass, with faded plums, chocolate mocha, and characteristic capsicum vegetality. Good concentration of dark berries on tasting, with yet more earth, savory spices, graphite and empty loamy finish, with breakfast-tea coppers. Remarkably enough, almost no other fruit or spicy sweetness one expects, but soft tannins on the mouthfeel. A great food wine, pairing nicely with our steak. Might have seen better days, but still, a good Barossa cab.

No, no, no.........not again. The last Elderton I tasted was not very good and this one must have been its brother (or sister if you will). I expect a lot from Shiraz so perhaps I was expecting too much from this Aussie Cab. Shame on me. The nose fumed of alcohol and dried pencil shavings. I allowed this to breathe about 40 minutes hoping for the best but getting the worst. On the palate this wine was lifeless and dull. No finish. A real headache here.

Consistent with past bottle, this wine is holding up well. Big Aussie Cab. Lots of black cherry, spice, tobacco, black pepper, oak and earth. Good balanced tannins and long finish.

As good as last bottle, this is a surprisingly Big Aussie Cab. Aromas/flavors of black cherry, spice, tobacco, black pepper and oak are balanced by nicely integrated tannins. Good, lingering finish.

Heavy, but thin - pretty good, but not worth price
