  • Coravin fun - US (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. A little mint, pyrazine accompanies ripe black fruits especially blackcurrant, backed by sweet spice & polished oak. Juicier than the nose implies, a little mid palate scoop, Ribena fruit, like the Dunn the tannins are quite gentle for a cabernet; softly engaging and persistent. Everything travels long with non-intrusive alcohol warmth joining on the finish. Okay

  • Popped and poured in Copake. Reticent nose. Ruby color, not showing much age. Blackberries and plums on the palate, along with leather and black pepper. This wine leans in a savory direction, with mild tannins and a bit of heat. Seems in a good place and can likely go another few years.
Drank 2nd nite tonite. More bricking noticeable now, and nose shows earthy and mushroom and bramble notes. Much more leather and earth on the palate. Softer, more elegant tonite too, but fruit has dissipated notably.

  • From Coravin. Wild blackcurrant, sweet spice, plums, slight pyrazine and brambles backs this up. There is a tiny sour red currant underpin. Savoury, leather, a little peppery note as well. Juicy, slightly sour, wild blackcurrant with that slight red currant underpin, chalky tannins here have a slightly milky coating, slight alcohol warmth on finish is non-intrusive. Still needs time for me.

  • Decanted for about 2 hours and had a nice hit of cherry at first sip but finished very smooth. Nose has some tobacco. Could still age longer but is great now. Too bad that was my last one of this vintage.

  • From Coravin. blackcurrant, sweet and peppery spice and alcohol heat over cigar box, cedar, a very slight herbaceous note and a touch of polished oak & leather...with time an almost saline note joins the rest of the bouquet. On the palate it's surprisingly fresh with a smidge of red currant fruit joining the black hued stuff. Tannins are talc textured and persistent. leather and cigar box are also here as well. Straying towards a touch of gentlemen's club but still a long way to go. Very nice. Time though I fear the alcohol is a tiny bit intrusive.
