BYOB dinner NOTK (Supernova hotel, Rotterdam): Medium+ intensity on the nose with a lot of tertiary aroma’s; forest floor, mushroom, licorice, ceder, truffle, celery. Medium acidity, medium+ tannins, long finish. For such a beast very elegant on the palate. 92-93

2007 Chateauneuf-du-Pape tasting: Mouthdrying tannins, pronounced alcohol, thick, jammy and liquer-like. There's some hedonistic pleasure in this and it's soundly made, but it starts to bore after a while and I wouldn't want to have to finish an entire bottle of this. Also, probably time to start drinking these up.

Deep garnet with the obvious aging hue around the rim. On the nose, raisins, cherries and toffee most prominent. Flavor profile confirms notes identified on the nose. Soft medium tannins offers a delicious mouth feel.

Another surprise for the evening. Tastes more like an old-time Chateauneuf. Wonderful earthy nose, earthy flavors with masses of soft tannins, chocolate-y flavors and a lingering finish. Showing well now but could improve and last for another 10 years.
